I'm running my voice through a vocoder so it's taking the waveforms of my voice and applying shape but not the pitch of the waveform to a simple minor chord that's quite deep. If I raise my voice up high enough I'll get harmonics but it's pretty much mechanical and monotone sounding. I'm speaking pretty quietly and it's amped up quite a lot to the speaker which is a good deal louder. If I talk loudly then not only will you hear my unprocessed voice but the speaker will clip and distort the sound.

Ooh, I love him! I just want to pick him up and stroke him and then run away from him screaming. Coolest nostrils in the world, too.

Are you speaking normally in there, or deepening your voice? What happens if you speak more high-pitched, or placidly, like an Ood? Is there a limit on how loud you can speak before the mike snarks up?
